I cup steel cut oatmeal
1 cup strawberry halves
1 banana
1 handful raisins
1 cup of almond milk
My favorite quick breakfast is and always will be oatmeal. If you don’t have time in the morning, this can always be prepared the night before. I cook the steel cut oats by first using almond milk instead of water. Once it begins to boil, I pour in the oats and let it sit on the stove, stirring occasionally, until the oats seemed to have soaked up all the liquid. I then pour it in a bowl and place my toppings on- bananas, strawberries, raisins, etc. I prefer not to sweeten, but if you do, some agave nectar or a slight bit of brown sugar won’t hurt you. If you’d like some toast to compliment your meal, try a slice of 100 calorie whole grain!
and ofcourse, who can forget a nice warm cup of coffee!
This meal comes to about 350 calories (450 with the toast); a nice big breakfast to jumpstart your metabolism for the day!

I cannot stress how important meal preparation is. If you work all week and feel you can’t control what you eat on the job, you’re WRONG! Take a few hours out of your weekend to prep for the following week. Pack tupperware with meals such as salmon with veggies and rice, chicken with veggies and rice, or any type of salad. By doing this you avoid the possible temptation of going out to eat to a fast food place and feeling bad about it after. Take control of your life and responsibility for your choices and change will come.
